various projects, mostly uni related (gamedesign, for those who dont know)

most of the stuff i did in my 1st semester, so in late 2022 (very bad art year my style was all over the place)
we were supposed to design a character for a mario cart type game. yea i went with uh the horse
following thing is pretty different from my usual style, more uh "joyful" looking. (i kind of hate it now tbh but whatever), partially because of the team members i was working with and partially since its a kids game more or less. idk why im even giving a heads up im sure anyone can understand that old uni stuff will look kinda trash
basically i have to make like 21 characters for a board game abt selling potions
rough draft of the card layout and some playing figures i made out of clay
cover for the box. (ik i said it in the video but ill say it again i didnt come up with that name lol...its dumb but ngl i couldnt think of anything better so we just went with it). this drawing took me around 13 hours, its been a while since i made a finished looking illustration.
ehh im done with my part of the group project. the board and rules are still missing but thats none of my business
the finished game, sure its not perfect by any means but im pretty proud of how it turned out
these are sketches for an arcade game pitch we have to do. obv i made it way more complicated than it needs to be cause im stupid and decided to do a fighting game. Basically the gist is you play as this office worker android who spilled coffe over his contol microchip and started malfunctioning. now he wants to quit his job but needs to take the elevator to get to his bosses office at the top of the building. since his malfunction got immediately reported to the system he gets stopped on every floor and needs to fight different office themed cyborg people. yeah thats it. also yes i shamelessly reused my A demon aesthetics for the designs whos gonna stop me? (i am creatively burned out)
update: my pitch went very well actually (shrug) but it was kinda chaotic cause i hadnt slept for 24 hours and caught a cold and my laptop didnt connect and then i accidentally sent the link to a meme instead of my powerpoint
second semester (early 2023)
If you were wondering why i didnt update in a week, well this is the reason. uni work! yea we had a gamejam (you get a theme and have to make a game within 5 days in a small team, we were 4 people). the theme they gave us was "i didnt ask for this" and the game is abt a dude who had to inherit his grandmas mansion against his wish after she died. basically you need to take pictures of your family members past memories and sorta learn abt their stories that way (basic stuff). except yk it was made in 5 days by a bunch of goons so its a bit rough (especially the ingame texts writing cough cough my team mate didnt let anyone proof read it cough cough they suck)
the "ghosts" i made for it. as you can see by the animation its classic VB game style. hey what can i say it works every time. the idea was to make this old school lookin low poly mansion and then have the memories be 2D to symbolize their uh otherworldliness or something. i wanted them all to be abstract like the chandelier one but it wouldve been to confusing for the players (rahhh i love me incomprehensible symbolism tho...)
jokes aside i think it turned out pretty neat for what its worth. the 3D models arent by me but i wanted to show them here anyways. (also our programmer/unity guy was a real one. fly high niclas... the horrors got his ass)
a sidehustle i joined around spring 2023, recently got funded so who knows maybe theres hope of it ever finishing afterall lol...
im part of a dev team thats making an indie game abt witches atm. (dont get too excited its just another stardew clone lmao) i mainly joined cause i was bored and need portfolio content so yea im just part of the art team i dont control anything else about it. these are some concepts i made
please ignore how fucked up the anatomy is
a moment of silence please as the witch hat has been rejected... she is sauceless now
on another note, comparing these drawings/designs to the ones i made last year for the cardgame i am quite pleased with my improvement, i feel like they look more coherent and less flat (mostly cause of the gradients and green undertones i recently started using i think)
agony
talk sprites
release me
my final project with a 32% survival rate. im gonna be real here boys were not gonna make it through this unharmed, i look into the future and see nothing but ruin. anyways i started the concepts begining 2024 and then just sat on my lazy ass not working on it and now i need to get back on it and want to die
Trench Crusade has one of those licenses that lets 3rd parties create stuff under their name, so that what i got hired for. making a small sub-faction for the trench pilgrims thatll be turned into minnies and put on kickstarter. if it goes well itll be done by autum 2025...
now, i have my issues with TC, mainly that it leans to hard into rule of cool with little substance or interesting lore, but some of the designs are rlly cool and ive been following mike franchina for a while. so creating characters for the setting is pretty fun
goon
my genious invention, the trenchbalger
my reference board
other misc concepts
i wasnt originally a part of this project but had to help out because they were torturing my friend who was their only artist and art director with a wicked workload. its a series of ttrpg oneshots compatible with liminal horror, the kickstarter got funded (idk if its still up or if you can purchase them afterwards anywhere). i did the cover and some page illustrations
the deer and plant zombie had to be edited cause they were too stylized, so theres 2 versions
3rd semester late 2023.... bro no comment this one was ass
this was for an AR group project, i did then concepts and the UV texturing of the models. turned out less than half assed in the end
(video wasnt the final version we tweaked some stuff especially the sound effects)
another uni project i didnt post about at all since it was super boring. we had to work with some local aggriculture company to make a game about their certificates or whatever the fuck
4th semester early 2024. this one was mostly torture so i can barely show any of the stuff
as of april 2024 i have just barely survived another god awful gamejam which i will not be posting the result of LOL
priest guy for our world building project
